Why it works
Less restriction than stock
S&B built this intake to flow better than stock on the L5P 6.6L Duramax. The fully enclosed airbox keeps engine heat and dirt away from the filter.
Snap-in lid
The snap-in lid makes install and filter checks quick, and a silicone edge trim seals out engine heat and debris. The filter comes in 8-layer Cotton Cleanable or Dry Extendable media.
Silicone parts rated to 400°F
The filter, coupler, lid seal and box plug are all silicone, so they seal better and last longer. Silicone handles up to 400°F without cracking, tearing or breaking down over time.
Three inlets, optional box plug
The L5P airbox has three inlets, and an included plug seals one if you want cooler air. S&B recommends running without the plug except in extreme heat.
No check engine lights
S&B engineers its intakes to run properly on stock calibration or with a tune. A properly mapped Mass Air Flow sensor keeps check engine lights away.
