Vendor warranty summary

Overland Vehicle Systems Warranty

At a glance: coverage depends on the line: limited lifetime on Expedition truck cap structure and XD awning frames, 6 years on XD tents and XD awning fabric, 4 years on HD tents and awnings, 2 years on LD tents

This is Overland Vehicle Systems's policy, not an NVMOS policy. OVS doesn't publish one warranty document. Its product pages say coverage and terms vary by product, so we've pulled the terms from each OVS product line's own pages and summarized them in plain English. Where an OVS page shows a generic warranty badge that disagrees with the product's own warranty text, we use the product text. The manufacturer's official terms always govern and can change without notice. Last reviewed on nvmos.com: October 15, 2026.

Soft Shackle, 3/8 in x 23 in, 36,000 lb Breaking Strength

A soft shackle does the job of a steel D-ring in most recoveries, but it weighs a fraction as much, does not rattle in the bag and will not chew up your bumper or winch fairlead. This one is 3/8 inch synthetic line, 23 inches long, with a breaking strength of 36,000 lb.

It is made from Dyneema, a low-friction fiber that is UV stable and lets synthetic winch line slide through it smoothly. That matters because, paired with an OVS recovery ring, the shackle can stand in for a snatch block on a redirect or double-line pull. A 3 inch Class 2 diamond knot locks the loop closed, and an abrasion sleeve protects the line where it rubs against hardware or edges. There is no pin to drop in the mud, and since it holds less stored energy than steel under load, it is a safer link in the rigging. Find more shackles and D-rings for your recovery kit.

Why it works
Light and quietNo rattling, no rust, easy on bumpers.
No loose pinDiamond knot closure works without tools.
Pulley readyUse with a recovery ring as a snatch block.
Fitment

Universal. Use it with rated recovery points, tow straps, kinetic ropes and winch lines on any vehicle.

Good to know

Rated for static and kinetic pulls and for winching or strapping. Charcoal color with a protective abrasion sleeve. Inspect the fibers before every use, and retire the shackle if you see cuts or heavy fraying. Not sure it fits your setup? Call us at (920) 249-7744 and a real person will check it.
