MAXTRAX Hitch 50 Soft Shackle Recovery Hitch
The Hitch 50 turns a standard 2-inch receiver into a recovery point built for soft shackles. It is CNC-machined from 6061 billet aluminum and anodized, with a curved radius that spreads the load across the shackle instead of pinching it over a hard edge.
Conventional hitch receivers and steel hardware have sharp edges that can permanently damage a soft shackle. The Hitch 50 is shaped for synthetic gear only, and it physically will not accept a steel shackle.
| Spec | Detail |
|---|---|
| Part number | MTXH50 |
| Receiver fit | Standard 50 mm / 2-inch tow hitch receivers |
| Working load limit | 19,400 lb |
| Destructive test break load | 97,003 lb |
| Material | 6061 billet aluminum, precision CNC-machined |
| Finish | Anodized for corrosion protection |
| Quality control | Unique serial number; each hitch X-rayed for inclusions |
| Shackle compatibility | Soft shackles only; will not fit steel shackles |
| Origin | Australian designed, engineered and tested |
Can I use a steel bow shackle with the Hitch 50?
No. It is designed exclusively for soft shackles and will not allow a steel shackle to be fitted.
What receiver size does it need?
A standard 2-inch (50 mm) tow hitch receiver.
What are the load ratings?
MAXTRAX lists a working load limit of 19,400 lb and a destructive test break load of 97,003 lb.
Why not just put a soft shackle on my regular hitch?
Traditional recovery hitches have harsh edges that can permanently damage a soft shackle. The Hitch 50 uses a curved radius so the load is spread evenly.
