King 4WD Soft Top for the Wrangler YJ
Good YJ soft tops are getting harder to find, and the original ones are well past their service life. This King 4WD replacement puts a new Black Diamond deck with tinted windows on a 1987-1995 Wrangler YJ with half steel doors, so the square-headlight Jeep keeps the rain out again.
The deck is a two-layer 24 oz marine-grade fabric, waterproof and UV stable, with a mildew-resistant treatment. Windows are pressed and polished DOT-approved flexible glass, seams are heat sealed over marine-grade stitching, the zippers are bindless, self-correcting and nylon reinforced, and the belt rails are high-impact plastic built not to crack. King 4WD builds these tops to CCFFA, SAE and FMVSS standards and puts the material through tensile, tear, adhesion, flex, abrasion, flammability, crock, stretch, UV and cold crack testing. Fits 1987-1995 Jeep Wrangler YJ, all models with half steel doors.
Plan on 1 to 2 hours for the install. Unbox the top and let it sit in direct sun for about 20 minutes first; warm vinyl and fabric stretch into place much more easily, and King 4WD includes detailed instructions. The kit includes the Black Diamond top deck, a 31 percent tinted rear window with dual zippers, and 31 percent tinted driver and passenger side windows. Not sure it fits your setup? Do I need my old soft top frame and hardware?
This is a replacement fabric top, not a full hardware kit, so plan on reusing the frame and hardware already on your Jeep. Call us if you are unsure what you have.
How long does installation take?
King 4WD estimates 1 to 2 hours. Letting the top warm in the sun for about 20 minutes before you start makes it easier to stretch into place.
Can the windows be removed?
Yes. The rear window has dual zippers and the side windows also roll up or come out completely.
Does it fit a YJ with full doors?
