What's covered
- Defective products are replaced with the same item, or a comparable one if it's been discontinued
- Diode Dynamics may replace just the failed component
- Finish defects caused by manufacturing, during the first 3 years
- Moisture beyond normal condensation that points to a seal failure, at Diode Dynamics' discretion
- Free tech support for the life of the product, even after the warranty ends
What's not covered
- Normal condensation, and paint or coating wear from regular use
- Installation or labor costs
- Improper installation or use, abuse, or opening, rewiring or repairing a product
- Swapping lenses on Stage Series lights voids the 3-year coverage (the 8-year coverage stays)
- Purchases from unauthorized sellers; coverage is for the original buyer and isn't transferable

- Request an RMA through Diode Dynamics' returns portal and work through diagnosis with their support team
- Nothing goes back without an RMA number; include photos for moisture claims
- For US customers, Diode Dynamics covers shipping on 3-year claims, plus return shipping for inspection on 8-year and lifetime claims

The Diode Dynamics SS40 Yellow is a Stage Series LED light bar about 41.6 inches long, running 3000K selective-yellow output with a true amber backlight. It is universal, so it goes wherever you can bolt a bar — bumper, roof, rack — and it comes in four beam patterns and two power levels so you can match it to how you actually drive.
Why it works
Diode Dynamics uses its patented TIR (total internal reflection) optics to steer more of the LED output into the beam you picked instead of spilling it everywhere. The housing is aluminum with an ASTM-standard powdercoat, the brackets are stainless steel, and the bar carries an IP69K rating, which means it is tested against high-pressure washdown — not just rain. Cooling is passive through the aluminum heatsink, so there is no fan to fail. The amber backlight is a separate accent you can run on its own.
Options
- SAE Driving (20°x12°): a tight, long-reaching pattern built around SAE driving-beam standards.
- Combo/Driving (60°x30°): distance down the middle with useful width on both sides — the most versatile pick.
- Flood (100°x80°): wide, close-in light for trails, work areas and camp.
- Spot (8°x8°): a narrow pencil beam for maximum reach.
- Sport (165 W) vs. Pro (225 W): Pro draws more power and puts out considerably more light; Sport is the lighter electrical load.
Fitment
Universal. The bar uses a Deutsch DT-P input connector, runs on 9–30V, and is polarity specific, so plan your wiring and switch accordingly. Check the dimensions (2.01 x 41.63 x 2.46 in) against your mounting location before you order.
Specs at a glance
- SAE Driving, Sport: 250,500 cd peak, 14,752 raw lumens
- SAE Driving, Pro: 331,000 cd peak, 50,176 raw lumens
- Current draw @ 12.8V: Sport 12.90 A, Pro 17.58 A
- LEDs: Osram Ostar Projection Compact and Lumileds automotive-grade
- Operating temperature: -40°F to 185°F
Warranty
Diode Dynamics covers this with a limited lifetime warranty. If something fails, the problem gets diagnosed with Diode Dynamics and the part is replaced if it needs to be. Full terms are on our Diode Dynamics warranty page, and the rest of the lineup is in the Diode Dynamics collection.

Specifications
Diode Dynamics SS40 Yellow LED Light Bar (Single) FAQs
What does the SS40 Yellow fit?
It is a universal light bar. It mounts anywhere you have room for the bar and its stainless brackets, and wires in through a Deutsch DT-P connector on 9–30V systems.
Which beam pattern should I choose?
Combo/Driving is the all-rounder. Pick SAE Driving or Spot if distance is the priority, and Flood if you mostly need wide, close-in light on trails or at camp.
What is the difference between Sport and Pro?
Pro runs at 225 watts and produces more output; Sport runs at 165 watts and pulls less current (12.90 A vs. 17.58 A at 12.8V), which is easier on your wiring and charging system.
Can I run the amber backlight by itself?
The amber backlight is a separate accent light from the main yellow beam. How you control it depends on your harness and switch setup. Call or text the real humans at NVMOS, (920) 249-7744.
