What's covered
- Defective products are replaced with the same item, or a comparable one if it's been discontinued
- Diode Dynamics may replace just the failed component
- Finish defects caused by manufacturing, during the first 3 years
- Moisture beyond normal condensation that points to a seal failure, at Diode Dynamics' discretion
- Free tech support for the life of the product, even after the warranty ends
What's not covered
- Normal condensation, and paint or coating wear from regular use
- Installation or labor costs
- Improper installation or use, abuse, or opening, rewiring or repairing a product
- Swapping lenses on Stage Series lights voids the 3-year coverage (the 8-year coverage stays)
- Purchases from unauthorized sellers; coverage is for the original buyer and isn't transferable
How to make a Diode Dynamics claim
- Keep your proof of purchase; every claim needs it (gift recipients can register within 90 days of the original purchase instead)
- Request an RMA through Diode Dynamics' returns portal and work through diagnosis with their support team
- Nothing goes back without an RMA number; include photos for moisture claims
- For US customers, Diode Dynamics covers shipping on 3-year claims, plus return shipping for inspection on 8-year and lifetime claims

The Diode Dynamics SS3 Infrared LED Pod is an IR illuminator for compatible night vision equipment, built in the same rugged SS3 housing as Diode’s visible-light pods. This listing is a single pod, offered in 850nm or 940nm and in Sport or Pro power, with a Combo beam for both width and distance.
Why it works
Night vision is only as good as the light it has to work with. The SS3 IR uses OSRAM IR emitters behind a Sabic Lexan 121R IR-filtering lens, which reduces the visible signature while still lighting the scene for your device. It has high and low IR modes and supports PWM and variable-voltage dimming, so you can turn it down for close work. The housing is passively cooled with a pin-fin heatsink and the pod is IP69K rated. Made in USA with global materials.
Options
- Wavelength, 850nm or 940nm: match it to what your night vision equipment is built to see. The IR-filtering lens reduces the visible glow either way.
- Sport or Pro: Pro is the higher power level for more reach; both use the Combo beam.
Fitment
Universal. Deutsch DT input, 9–16V, polarity specific. The pod measures 3.3 x 3.3 x 2.4 in.
Specs at a glance
- Emitters: OSRAM IR
- Lens: Sabic Lexan 121R IR filter

Warranty
Diode Dynamics covers this with a limited lifetime warranty. If something fails, the problem gets diagnosed with Diode Dynamics and the part is replaced if it needs to be. Full terms are on our Diode Dynamics warranty page, and the rest of the lineup is in the Diode Dynamics collection.

Can I dim it?
Yes. It has high and low IR modes and supports PWM and variable-voltage dimming.
Will it work without night vision gear?
No. Infrared light is meant for compatible night vision equipment; it is not a visible driving light.
