This stainless steel bracket moves the factory Toyota Safety Sense (TSS) unit on a 5th gen 4Runner so it clears a Backwoods Adventure Mods front bumper. You only need it if your 4Runner has a factory forward-facing camera, which is most common on the later 5th gen trucks.
Do you need it?
If your 4Runner has the factory front camera, yes: the bracket relocates the TSS hardware so it does not interfere with the Backwoods bumper. If your truck has no front camera, Backwoods says the bumper works with the factory TSS as is, and you can skip this part.
Why it works
It is stainless steel, so it will not rust, and it ships raw rather than powder coated. That is a fair trade for a small part that mostly lives behind the bumper.
Fitment
For 5th gen Toyota 4Runners running a Backwoods front bumper. It does not work with the Backwoods 5th Gen 4Runner Prerunner Front Bumper.

Does every 5th gen 4Runner need this bracket?
No. Only trucks with the factory forward-facing camera, most common on newer 5th gen models. Without the camera, the Backwoods bumper works with the factory TSS as is.
Will it work with the Backwoods Prerunner front bumper?
No. Backwoods lists it as not compatible with the 5th Gen 4Runner Prerunner Front Bumper.
Is it powder coated?
No. It ships raw, and because it is stainless steel it will not rust.
