This Trail Grid Pro mount holds a Sony aftermarket microphone in the headliner console of a 2016-2023 Tacoma. It keeps the mic tucked away in the original spot and keeps the voice clarity you expect from a hands-free setup, without a visible stalk.
Fitting a Sony mic takes one extra step: the small mounting ball on the microphone has to come off, which Trail Grid Pro says is easy with side cutters or a utility knife. After that, the rounded end goes through the upper support of the mount, nearly level with the bottom of the two legs.

Install notes
Pull the headliner console straight down to release the pressure clips, using gentle pressure with a panel tool. Unplug the console harness and remove the foam insert from the microphone port. Cut off the mounting ball. Line up the spot where the ball was with one of the upper supports so the side audio openings are not blocked. Click the mount into the console with the legs and mic end facing down. Route the wire toward the mirror, along the windshield, behind the driver-side A-pillar cover and under the dash. Plug the 3.5mm jack into the red mic port on the back of the Sony radio chassis and test.
