The Hi-Lite Overland Prerunner Bull Bar front bumper is Backwoods' hybrid winch bumper for the 2024-2026 (4th gen) Toyota Tacoma. Hybrid here means both materials doing the job they're best at: a steel winch plate and recovery points carry the loads, and an aluminum outer shell keeps the weight down. It's designed and manufactured in the USA.
Why it works
- Aluminum outer shell: 40 lb. Steel winch plate and recovery points: 42 lb. Total: 82 lb, replacing a factory bumper of roughly 40 lb.
- The steel recovery points tie directly to the frame, not the bumper skin, and their edges are softened so they are safe for soft shackles.
- Hand cutouts give you access to the winch and a view of the line while spooling.
- Prerunner-style bull bar with an aggressive, high-clearance design.
- Black powder coat and Grade 8 hardware included.
Winch and lighting
- Takes winches up to 12,000 lb, and the winch can be mounted to the truck separately from the bumper.
- Most winches fit as-is. Winches taller than 10.1" (for example the 10.5" WARN ZEON) may need the solenoid relocated or a slight crossmember modification.
- Accepts all hawse fairleads.
- Cutouts fit most aftermarket pod lights. Factory fog lights are not compatible.

- Compatible with Toyota Safety Sense (TSS) and the factory parking sensors.

Will my winch fit?
Most winches up to 12,000 lb fit without changes. Winches taller than 10.1in, such as the 10.5in WARN ZEON, may need the solenoid relocated or a slight crossmember modification.
Does it work with my TSS and parking sensors?
Yes. Backwoods lists it as compatible with Toyota Safety Sense and the factory parking sensors.
Can I keep my factory fog lights?
No. Factory fog lights are not compatible, but there are cutouts for most aftermarket pod lights.
How is it different from the Bull Bar version?
This is the prerunner-style bull bar. Its aluminum shell is 40 lb versus 44 lb on the full bull bar, for 82 lb total instead of 86 lb.
