Up front, progressive dual-rate lift coil springs provide consistent performance and predictable handling during normal street driving, similar to a linear-rate spring. As the axle begins to droop, the softer upper section of the coil spring unwinds to provide maximum articulation and improved spring retention. These springs are tuned to accommodate the additional weight and unique load characteristics of diesel and 4xe models.
