The TeraFlex Alpine IR rear long arm kit swaps the short factory rear control arms on a 2007-2018 Jeep Wrangler JK for long arms and the matching long arm brackets they mount to. It is built for JKs on a 3-6 inch lift whose owners want more from the rear suspension and are ready to cut and weld to get it. Make no mistake, this is a fabrication-level upgrade.
Why it works
- Stout tubing: the upper arms use 42mm x 4mm wall DOM tube and the lower arms use 50mm x 5mm wall DOM tube.
- Reinforced brackets: the long arm brackets are gusseted and reinforced. TeraFlex says this cuts NVH (noise, vibration and harshness) compared with other long arm kits.
- IR Bushings: they allow unrestricted rotation and flex while still damping noise and vibration, so articulation does not come at the cost of a noisy ride.
- Arms and brackets together: sold as a matched set, so the geometry is designed as one system.
Fitment
2007-2018 Jeep Wrangler JK and JK Unlimited running a 3-6 inch lift. TeraFlex part number 1957200. The front half is sold separately as the Alpine IR Front Long Arm & Brackets kit.
Install notes
Cutting and welding are required. The factory control arm bracketry has to be cut off or removed before the Alpine brackets go on, so book time with a fabricator or a shop that does this kind of work.
