The Crankcase Vent System Kit (CVS) is aimed at one problem: oil being drawn into the intake while you drive on extreme inclines. On a steep climb or descent, oil can make its way into the PCV system and intake, and this kit adds a front PCV valve to stop that.
TeraFlex says preventing it avoids burning oil and smoke, hydro lock, burnt starters and internal engine damage. It works by using the existing oil fill in the valve cover to add a front PCV valve to the existing system.
Fitment
JK Wrangler and Unlimited with the 3.6L engine. It does not fit JK models with the 3.8-liter V-6, and does not fit JL Wrangler or JT Gladiator with the 3.6L Pentastar; those need part 4839200.
Emissions note
TeraFlex states the kit meets the EPA Anti-Tampering Policy reasonable basis criteria and can be sold in US states that do not require a CARB Executive Order for aftermarket parts. Check your state's rules before ordering.

Does it fit the 3.8L JK?
No. It does not fit JK models with the 3.8-liter V-6.
What about a JL or Gladiator?
No. JL and JT 3.6L Pentastar models use part 4839200.
Is it legal in California?
TeraFlex says it can be sold in states that do not require a CARB Executive Order. Check local rules for your state.
What does it prevent?
Oil being drawn into the PCV system and intake on extreme inclines and declines.
