This is a magnetic mount for radar detectors and other lightweight devices such as small monitors. Instead of a clamp that has to fit one specific housing, it uses a three-layer pad that adapts to uneven surfaces: strong 3M adhesive grips the device housing, a layer of custom foam conforms to its shape, and a steel magnetic plate indexes the device onto the base. The device snaps on and off magnetically, which is handy for stowing a detector when you leave the truck.
The receiving base is 6061-T6 billet aluminum and comes with a CNC machined 26mm metal ball, so it works with any 26mm ball and socket system. Tackform recommends devices weighing up to 1 lb.
Fitment
Universal. Hardware is included to mount directly to Tackform Slim Track dash brackets or any universal AMPS platform. Because it is Type-B compatible, it can also attach straight to the top plate of a Type-B dash bracket with the supplied screw, with no ball or arm needed, for the shortest possible connection.
Install notes

What devices is it meant for?
Radar detectors and lightweight monitors. Tackform recommends devices up to 1 lb.
How does it attach to the device?
A pad with 3M adhesive, conforming foam and a steel magnetic plate is stuck to the device housing, and the plate indexes to the magnetic base.
Can it mount without an arm?
Yes. It can attach directly to the top plate of a Type-B dash bracket using the supplied screw.
What is the difference from the 20mm version?
This one has a 26mm ball for 26mm systems. Tackform lists a separate 20mm version.
