This kit bolts down to the floor of a truck or any other rigid surface and puts an AMPS-pattern device at the end of a rigid flex arm. It is for GPS units, tuners and other AMPS devices that you want held firmly and not stuck on with suction.
Installation uses the included hardware, and a drill bit is provided. Five arm lengths are offered, from 10" to 26".
The arm is Tackform's rigid flex style: industrial-grade aluminum that holds its position without sagging. It is meant to be set up and left alone rather than moved around, and it takes two hands to adjust. Long arms can sway on a moving vehicle, so an adhesive-backed stabilizer is included to anchor the arm to your dashboard or center console.
The holder plate uses the industry-standard AMPS hole pattern of 30mm x 38mm (1.181" x 1.496"). The holes take M4, M5, 10-24, 10-32 and #8 plastic screws, plus other self-threading screws up to 5.2mm in diameter. The plate is CNC-machined 6061-T6 aluminum, works with 20mm ball and socket systems, and has a base-to-ball center measurement of 1.14 inches.
Fitment
Not vehicle-specific. It mounts to any rigid surface you can drill, and suits trucks and semis. It uses the 26 Series, 26mm ball system, and Tackform notes it is not suitable for 1" / B-sized / 25.4mm balls. Confirm your device has a 30mm x 38mm AMPS pattern.
