The Textured Tailgate Protection Overlay is a single-piece Tufskinz cover that shields the tailgate on your 2005-2015 Toyota Tacoma from scratches and wear. Cut from TUF-LINER protective film in a textured finish, it takes the daily abuse of loading and unloading so the factory tailgate underneath stays clean. Freshening up a newer truck instead? The Tailgate Handle Overlays dress up 2024-2026 Tacomas.
Features
- Single-piece tailgate protection overlay
- Textured finish offered plain or with a tri-color logo
- Made from tough TUF-LINER protective film
- Guards the tailgate against scratches, scuffs, and cargo wear
- 3M automotive-grade adhesive backing
- Cut to fit the 2005-2015 Tacoma tailgate
- Made in the USA
Installation
Figure about 20 minutes. The overlay is peel-and-stick with 3M automotive-grade adhesive - no drilling and no cutting. Clean the tailgate surface, position the film, and smooth it down from one side to avoid bubbles.

Textured Tailgate Protection Overlay Fits 2005-2015 Toyota Tacoma FAQs
Will this tailgate overlay fit my Tacoma?
It is designed for the 2005-2015 Toyota Tacoma (2nd Gen) and is cut to that tailgate. It will not match the 2016-2023 or newer tailgate shape, so confirm your truck falls in the 2005-2015 range before ordering.
Does it cover or replace the factory tailgate?
It covers it. The single-piece TUF-LINER film lays over your existing tailgate surface to protect it from scratches and cargo wear, leaving the factory panel in place underneath.
Can I get it without a logo?
Yes. It is offered plain with no logo as well as with tri-color logo options. All versions install the same way - peel-and-stick with 3M adhesive in about 20 minutes, no drilling.
