If you own a 2016-2023 Tacoma with the 3.5L V6, this is the intake SXTH Element built for your truck. The CPLT replaces the factory airbox and tube with a bigger dry-flow filter, a molded airbox with a magnetic lid, and a tube that tapers back down to the stock MAF diameter. That last part matters: the truck keeps running on its factory calibration, so there is no tune to buy and no check engine light to chase.
What it does on the dyno
In SXTH's own back-to-back Dynojet test, peak output went from 240.77 to 254.39 wheel horsepower, about 13.6 whp, and peak torque rose about 6.2 lb-ft. SXTH notes the gains run through much of the upper rev range, which is where a loaded-up Tacoma tends to feel flat. As with any dyno sheet, your truck, fuel and weather will move the numbers a little.
The sound, without the drone
Open intakes on the 3.5L can get loud and nasal around 3,800-4,000 RPM. SXTH tuned a Helmholtz resonator into this kit specifically to knock that resonance down, so you get a deeper V6 note when you push it and a quiet cab when you are cruising.
Filtration and upkeep
The dry filter has a 6-inch inlet and, in SXTH's published ISO 5011 / SAE J726 testing, reached up to 99.52% filtration efficiency. No oil to over-apply. When it is time to check it, the magnetic lid lifts off by hand and snaps back on.
Install
Bolt-on, uses the factory mounting points, no cutting. Plan on a driveway afternoon with basic hand tools.

Does the SXTH CPLT intake need a tune on a 3.5L Tacoma?
No. The tube tapers back to the factory MAF diameter, so the truck runs on its stock calibration.
Will it make my Tacoma drone?
SXTH built a Helmholtz resonator into this kit specifically for the 3.5L to cut the harsh resonance around 3,800-4,000 RPM. You hear more V6 under throttle and very little while cruising.
Does it fit the 2.7L four-cylinder or the 2024+ Tacoma?
No. This one is for the 2016-2023 Tacoma 3.5L V6 only. SXTH makes a separate CPLT intake for the 2024+ Tacoma 2.4T.
Do I have to oil the filter?
No. It is a dry filter. Clean it with mild soap and water when it needs it.
