A 56 gallon replacement fuel tank for GM heavy duty diesels. It gives a Duramax 2500/3500 crew cab short bed noticeably more range than the factory tank, and the bottom has more surface area than the original, so there is a larger fuel reserve by the time the low fuel light comes on.
Fitment
Listed for 2011-2026 GMC and Chevy 2500/3500 with the 6.6L Duramax LML or L5P, crew cab, short bed. Part number 10-1036. The vendor currently marks it sold out.
Things to know before you buy
High-flow stations such as truck stops will auto-fill the tank at the nozzle. The distance-to-empty readout on GM trucks cannot be reprogrammed, so it will show roughly half the range that is actually left; the vendor says to multiply the displayed number by two. The fuel gauge works correctly, but it will sit on full until about 4-5 gallons have been used, then move normally.
Per the vendor, using an auxiliary fuel tank alongside this tank voids the lifetime warranty.

No. The vendor says it cannot be reprogrammed and will show about half the real range; multiply the displayed number by 2.
