Ford's factory transmission cover on the F-150 is a compressed fiber board panel, and it has a reputation for soaking up water and dropping off. This RCI Metalworks plate replaces it with steel or aluminum that covers roughly twice the area of the partial OEM cover, protecting the transmission, exhaust and oil pan. It works as a stand-alone piece or alongside RCI front and transfer-case skid plates.
Built-in cooling vents keep air moving around the exhaust, and the underside is smooth and flat so it slides over rocks and ledges instead of catching on them. A flush-mount oil drain door means oil changes do not require pulling the plate, with one condition covered below.
Fitment
Fits 4x4 F-150s from 2009 to present with the 5.0 V8, 3.5L EcoBoost, 2.7L EcoBoost or the 3.3L engine. It does not fit PowerBoost hybrids; there is a separate PowerBoost version. It will not fit with drop bracket lift kits. EcoBoost and diesel trucks need a Fumoto or Ronin oil change valve to use the drain door, and 2.7L EcoBoost and diesel trucks must remove the plate for oil service without one.
Options
Choose 1/4" aluminum (bare or satin black powdercoat) or 10 gauge steel with a satin black powdercoat. Aluminum weighs 20 lbs and steel weighs 30 lbs.
Install notes
It bolts to factory attachment points with basic tools and no drilling. Hardware and instructions come with it. Made in the USA.
