This RCI Metalworks skid plate protects the transfer case and exhaust pipe on the Jeep JLU. It is intended as an addition to, or a replacement for, the light OEM skid plate that attaches directly to the transfer case, where an impact cannot spread out and the plate ends up doing little.
Reinforced edges between cross-members add rigidity, and the smooth, flat surface slides over obstacles. The kit includes a heavy-duty 3/16" steel cross-member; with the aluminum plate, it is a powder coated steel cross-member, and the support cross-member is black powder coated steel on both options.
Fitment
RCI lists 2018-present JLU and 2020-present JT Gladiator. The description specifies 2018-2020 JLU gas models with stock and mid arm setups, and it does not fit the 3.0 EcoDiesel.
Options and weight
3/16" steel with a heavy-duty black powdercoat, or 1/4" aluminum, bare or powder coated. Listed weight is 57 lbs.
Install notes
It bolts to factory attachment points with no drilling, and hardware and instructions are included. Made in the USA.
