The rear differential is a low, exposed part on a Tundra, and this skid covers it. RCI laser cuts the plate from 3/16-inch steel and shapes it to hug the differential within 1/8 inch, so you lose very little ground clearance. It clamps directly to the axle housing, which means no drilling. Drain holes let water and dirt escape, and the design keeps access to the differential drain plug. The finish is a black powder coat.
The gap only becomes obvious once a front skid plate goes on and leaves an open slot below the bumper. This plate closes it with a modest steel piece that weighs about 6 lb shipped, and it adds protection for the radiator in the process.
