Underbody damage gets expensive quickly, and on a late-model F-150 a lot of costly hardware hangs low at the front. This RCI Metalworks engine skid plate covers the EPAS power steering unit on newer trucks, the front differential, the front cross-member, the engine and engine bay, and the low-hanging intercooler on EcoBoost models.
It is a two-piece design with six mounting points, so subsections can come off for maintenance. Removing two bolts lets the front panel slide away for access to the oil filters. The plate mounts to the frame horns behind the tow hooks, so it stays clear of aftermarket bumpers and hidden winches.
Fitment
Fits 4x4 F-150s on the 2015-present chassis. Trucks from 2015 to 2020 may need the air dam removed for installation, and it can be reattached afterward; 2021 and newer trucks do not need that. It is not compatible with 4" or taller lift kits. This plate does not replace the factory fiber board transmission cover; that is the job of the RCI transmission skid plate.
Options
10 gauge steel with a heavy-duty black powdercoat is the all-purpose, best-value choice. 1/4" aluminum is lighter, corrosion resistant and needs no finish; it is also available with satin black powdercoat.
Install notes
It bolts onto existing factory attachment points with no drilling, and hardware and instructions are included. Made in the USA.

Do I have to remove the air dam?
On 2015-2020 trucks it may need to come off for installation and can be reattached. 2021 and newer trucks do not require it.
Does it replace the factory transmission cover?
No. For the fiber board cover, you want the RCI transmission skid plate.
Will it work with aftermarket bumpers or a hidden winch?
Yes. It mounts to the frame horns behind the tow hooks and does not interfere with them.
Does it fit lifted trucks?
Not with 4" or taller lift kits.
