Exposed catalytic converters take abuse from rocks and brush, and they are also a theft target. This set puts four CNC laser-cut 10-gauge steel guards around them, one per converter. The guards are vented for airflow and heat dissipation, with a smooth, flat surface so the truck slides over obstacles. They also add strength to the transmission skid plate they mount to, and they tie in with RCI front and transmission skids and the Toyota TRD Pro engine skid plate.
There is a trade-off worth knowing about: once the guards are on, they cannot be removed without taking the skid plates off first. That is by design for theft deterrence, but it does make later service on that area a bigger job.
Fitment
Fits 4x4 models only: 2007-2021 Toyota Tundra and 2008-2022 Toyota Sequoia. The guards bolt to an existing RCI transmission skid, which is NOT included, so you need that skid plate to install them.
What's included
Four catalytic guards (one for each converter), all hardware and installation instructions. The transmission skid plate is sold separately.
Install notes
Installation takes minutes. Drilling is required if your RCI transmission skid was manufactured before June 2022, although RCI says it is nearly through that older inventory. This part is made to order and ships on a lead time; ask us for the current wait. An installation guide is available.
