Exposed catalytic converters are both a trail hazard and a theft target. This RCI guard is CNC laser-cut 1/4" aluminum, custom fit to cover the converters on the 4Runner, FJ Cruiser and GX. The design is vented for airflow and heat dissipation, with a smooth flat surface that slides over obstacles, and it is meant to be added to the RCI transmission skid plate to help deter converter theft. Choose bare metal or satin black powdercoat. Made in the USA.
It ties in with RCI front and transfer-case skids and is compatible with the Toyota TRD Pro engine skid plate.
Fitment
Listed for the 2003 to 2024 Toyota 4Runner and FJ Cruiser, with GX models also named in the title and description. It is designed around the current RCI transmission skid plate, the one with the 2" double bent side flange.

No. It bolts onto the RCI transmission skid plate.

It is designed for the current skid with the 2" double bent side flange. Drilling may be required on skids bought before these guards existed.
