How to make a Overland Vehicle Systems claim
- Have your proof of purchase or sales receipt ready; OVS asks for it with every warranty claim
- Photograph the defect and note your part number before you remove or ship anything
- Contact OVS Warranty Service by phone or email (below). OVS decides whether the item is defective and, if it is, repairs or replaces it with an equivalent product
- Freight deliveries (caps, racks, tents): inspect before you sign, note any damage on the bill of lading, and report damage or missing pieces within 24 hours

XD Nomadic 270 LT Freestanding Awning
The XD Nomadic 270 LT wraps from the side of the vehicle around the back, giving you 80 square feet of shade that covers both the side door and the tailgate at once. It is freestanding, so it opens and holds itself without poles, which makes it practical for short stops as well as full camp setups.
Fabric is 320g ripstop poly cotton with a 5000 PU waterproof rating and a blackout undercoat that keeps the area beneath it cooler and dimmer. The arms are two-stage black powder-coated aluminum on a rivet-free truss with a heavy-duty steel hinge plate, held together with stainless hardware. Pivoting support poles twist and lock up to 8.5 ft and sit on rubber non-slip feet when the wind picks up, and Velcro straps stow them when they are not needed. An integrated LED light kit handles camp lighting after dark, and the C-channel on the frame accepts light strips, organizers and other add-ons. See the full line of vehicle awnings and accessories.
Universal rack mount, sold in a driver side or passenger side version. Pick the side the awning will sit on when you are facing forward in the driver seat. Closed size is 83 x 7 x 5 inches, so your rack needs room for that length on the chosen side.
In the box: awning with 840D travel cover, awning organizer, guide lines, ground stakes, U-bolts, nuts, ratchet straps, screws, washers and split lock washers. At 53 lb this is a two-person install, and it puts real leverage on the rack when open, so mount it to solid crossbars. Matching XD Nomadic 270 LT walls are sold separately. Which side should I order?
Order the side of the vehicle the awning will mount on. The driver side and passenger side versions are mirror images and are not interchangeable.
How much does the 270 LT cover?
It provides 80 sq. ft. of shade, wrapping from the side of the vehicle around the rear.
Does it need the poles?
No. It is freestanding. The poles adjust up to 8.5 ft and are there for wind or extra stability.
What is the difference between the 270 LT and 270 LTE?
The 270 LT covers 80 sq. ft. and weighs 53 lb. The 270 LTE is lighter at 31 lb and covers 65 sq. ft.
