How to make a Overland Vehicle Systems claim

The SCAR 10S: 10,000 lb of Pull on Synthetic Rope
A winch is the recovery tool you use when there is nobody around to pull you out. The SCAR 10S is a 10,000 lb rated, 12V winch with synthetic rope, built for repeated pulls in mud, sand and snow where a cheap winch would overheat or slip.
Inside is a 6.5 HP series wound motor driving a 3-stage planetary gear set with a ring gear, rated for a line speed of 42 feet per minute and a fairly quiet run. The brake is a cone type built into the motor, and it engages automatically in both pull and reverse so the load holds without creeping. The free-spool lever is oversized and machined from 6061 aluminum, which makes it easy to work with gloves on. The unit is sealed to IP68 and runs through a 500A heavy-duty solenoid. It comes with 85 ft of line and a heavy-duty hook. Synthetic rope is lighter to handle than steel cable and stores less energy if it fails, which is why many people switch to it. The trade-off is that it needs a smooth fairlead and should be kept away from sharp edges and heat. Compare it with the rest of our truck and SUV winches.
Universal. The SCAR uses the standard 10 x 4.5 in winch bolt pattern, so it bolts to most winch-ready bumpers and winch plates built for that pattern. It wires to a 12V battery.
Control is by wireless remote, and the remote can also run on an 11.5 ft removable cable if you prefer a wired connection. The remote uses a lithium battery. Shipping weight is about 61 lb, so check that your bumper or plate is rated for a 10,000 lb winch before you mount it. Covered by the OVS warranty. Not sure it fits your setup? Will it bolt to my bumper?
If your bumper or winch plate uses the standard 10 x 4.5 in winch pattern, yes. Make sure the mount is rated for a 10,000 lb winch.
Does it come with a remote?
Yes. It includes a wireless remote that can also be used with an 11.5 ft removable cable.
Is it waterproof?
OVS rates the SCAR at IP68.
What does it need for power?
It runs on 12V and connects to your vehicle battery.
