HD Nomadic 270 Driver Side Awning for Mid-High Roof Vans
A mid or high roofline van mounts its awning well above head height, so the support poles need to be longer than usual to reach the ground. This HD Nomadic 270 driver side awning comes with a bracket kit and extended 3 meter (9.85 ft) poles sized for taller vans, and it opens into 129 square feet of shade and rain cover that one person can deploy.
It's freestanding in normal conditions: oversized reinforced hinges and boxed aluminum rafters with welded ends and internal cross supports hold the canopy out without poles. When the wind picks up, three pivoting aluminum poles swing down and lock at the height you want, and supplied paracord and oversized stakes tie everything down. The canopy is 280G poly cotton ripstop with heat-sealed seams, the fabric meets FMVSS 302, and it packs into a 1000g PVC travel cover with a #10 zipper and a PU-3500 UV rating. Designed for mid to high roofline vans. This is the driver side version, so it mounts on the driver side of the van. It mounts to most factory and aftermarket roof racks using the included bracket kit; check your rack's load rating, since the awning ships at about 79 lb.
Plan on 1 to 2 hours for installation, following the OVS instructions. In the box: the awning, the bracket kit and the 3 meter pole kit, plus stakes, paracord and ballistic nylon tie-downs. Will this awning fit my van's roof rack?
It's designed to work with most factory and aftermarket racks using the included bracket kit. Call us with your van and rack and we'll confirm.
Which side of the van does it go on?
This is the driver side model. OVS makes a separate version for the other side.
Do I need the poles to set it up?
No. It's freestanding in calm conditions. Deploy the poles and stake it down when wind or weather picks up.
How long does installation take?
Allow 1 to 2 hours, following the OVS instructions.
Are the enclosure walls included?
No. The enclosure is an optional add-on sold separately.
