OVS HD Nomadic 180 Degree Freestanding Awning
A straight awning shades one side of the vehicle; a 180 degree awning wraps around the corner and covers the side and the back at once. The OVS HD Nomadic 180 swings out to 88 square feet of shelter, and in calm conditions it stands on its own with no poles, so one person can deploy it.
Oversized reinforced hinges and boxed aluminum rafters carry the canopy when it is freestanding. The cover is 280g poly cotton ripstop, FMVSS 302 certified, with heat-sealed seams so rain stays out. When the wind picks up, three pivoting aluminum poles and two telescoping poles drop down and lock at the height you want, and stakes and shock cords tie it to the ground. It packs into a 1000g PVC travel cover with a #10 zipper. Browse more vehicle awnings and accessories.
Universal. Mounts on anything with a factory or aftermarket roof rack and fits most racks. Confirm your rack's weight capacity before installing if you are not sure; the awning itself weighs about 55 lb.
OVS rates it for 20-25 mph winds freestanding and up to 40 mph with the supplied poles, stakes and guy lines. Included: the awning with 4 built-in aluminum rafters, 3 pivoting telescoping poles plus 2 telescoping poles, 4 sets of shock cord, 4 heavy-duty stakes, the travel cover, 3 heavy-duty mounting brackets with hardware and a nylon-reinforced tie-down kit. Do I need to use the poles?
Not in calm conditions; it is freestanding. OVS rates it for 20-25 mph winds without poles and up to 40 mph with the poles, stakes and guy lines deployed.
Will it fit my roof rack?
It mounts to most factory and aftermarket roof racks with the 3 included brackets. Check that your rack can carry about 55 lb.
How much area does it cover?
88 square feet. Opened, it measures 240 x 78.5 inches.
Can one person set it up?
Yes. Because it is freestanding, it is designed as a one-person deployment.
