Vendor warranty summary

Overland Vehicle Systems Warranty

At a glance: coverage depends on the line: limited lifetime on Expedition truck cap structure and XD awning frames, 6 years on XD tents and XD awning fabric, 4 years on HD tents and awnings, 2 years on LD tents

This is Overland Vehicle Systems's policy, not an NVMOS policy. OVS doesn't publish one warranty document. Its product pages say coverage and terms vary by product, so we've pulled the terms from each OVS product line's own pages and summarized them in plain English. Where an OVS page shows a generic warranty badge that disagrees with the product's own warranty text, we use the product text. The manufacturer's official terms always govern and can change without notice. Last reviewed on nvmos.com: October 15, 2026.

Brute Recovery Tow Strap with Padded Sleeve and Storage Bag

The Brute tow strap is a static recovery strap for pulling a stuck vehicle out of mud, sand or snow, towing a vehicle that will not run, or extending a winch line. Static means it does not stretch, so it is the right tool for steady, controlled pulls rather than yanking with momentum. It comes in five sizes, from a 2 in x 30 ft strap rated at 20,000 lb up to 4 in widths rated at 40,000 lb.

Each strap is tightly woven synthetic fiber at 30 strands per inch, with double-stitched loops and protective sleeves at the ends to stop the eyes from stretching or deforming. The loops are sized to take soft shackles and D-rings, and OVS static-tests the straps against their breaking-strength ratings. A drawstring storage bag with a mesh bottom is included so dirt can fall out instead of staying packed against the webbing. It pairs with the rest of our recovery straps and shackles.

Why it works
No stretchStatic webbing gives controlled, predictable pulls.
Protected eyesDouble-stitched loops with sleeves resist wear and deformation.
Five sizesChoose length and rating to match your vehicle and use.
Fitment

Universal recovery gear. Use it with properly rated D-rings, soft shackles, frame-mounted recovery points or solid bumpers on any vehicle. Every rigging point in the pull needs to meet or exceed the rating of the strap you choose.

Good to know

The 4 in x 8 ft size works well as a short connector or tree-saver style strap, while the 30 ft lengths give room for long pulls and daisy chaining. This is not a kinetic strap, so do not use it for snatch recoveries that rely on stretch. Rinse mud and sand off the strap right after use, since grit trapped in the fibers wears them down. Not sure it fits your setup? Call us at (920) 249-7744 and a real person will check it.

OVS Brute Recovery Tow Strap with Padded Sleeve and Storage Bag FAQs

Can I use this tow strap for snatch or kinetic recoveries?

No. It is a static strap with no stretch, built for steady pulls, towing and winch extensions. Use a kinetic recovery strap for momentum recoveries.

Which size should I buy?

Choose the rating based on your vehicle and the length based on how you will use it. The 30 ft straps suit long pulls, and the 4 in x 8 ft is a short, heavy connector.

What do I connect it with?

The loops are sized for soft shackles and D-rings. Attach only to structurally sound, rated points such as frame-mounted recovery points or solid bumpers.

How should I care for it?

Clean off mud and sand right after use and let it dry. The included bag has a mesh bottom so debris can fall out.
