The Morimoto Backup Light Boost Bar is a license plate mounted reverse light, and this plug-and-play version removes the usual wiring headache. A proprietary adapter connects the bar to your truck's 7-way trailer plug, so there is no cutting, splicing or modifying the factory harness. Mount the bar at the plate, plug in the adapter and you have a much stronger reverse light.
The bar carries 45 CREE J Series LEDs behind a UV-coated polycarbonate lens shaped for a focused 45-degree beam. Morimoto rates it at 2,700 raw lumens and 1,950 effective lumens of 4500K warm white light from 29w. The housing is powder-coated die-cast aluminum, epoxy-sealed and rated IP69K against water and dust.
Fitment
It is listed for most trucks that have a US-spec license plate and a 7-way trailer port. Two exclusions are called out: 2019 and newer Ram trucks and the Tesla Cybertruck are not compatible. Because the adapter plugs into the trailer port, it also leaves your trailer lights fully usable.

One Backup Light Boost Bar, one trailer plug-to-bar adapter harness and one power tap kit. The adapter can also run a different brand's reverse LED lights using the included pigtail splice adapter.

What trucks does it fit?
Most trucks with a US-spec license plate and a 7-way trailer port. 2019 and newer Ram trucks and the Tesla Cybertruck are not compatible.
Do I have to cut or splice any wiring?
No. The included trailer plug-to-bar adapter handles the connection, and a power tap kit is in the box.
Can I still use my trailer lights?
Yes. The adapter retains full use of your trailer light connection.
Can I use the adapter with other reverse lights?
Yes, the adapter can power third-party reverse LED lights using the included pigtail splice adapter.
