The NCS Wide trades reach for spread. It throws 12,400 candela of white light across a wide pattern, which is what you want on tight trails, in dust, and anywhere the problem is seeing wide rather than seeing far.
Morimoto states it complies with SAE standards for both off-road and on-road use, and it runs 14% brighter than competing pods on 28% less power.

Every figure in the spec table is per pod / each. The 15.6w draw and 1.5A current are single-pod numbers.
Why pick wide over spot or combo?
The wide beam spreads light across the foreground rather than concentrating it at distance, which suits tight trails, dust and low-speed work. The Spot and Combo versions use the same housing with different optics.
How durable are they?
The pods use a copper DTP PCB for heat management and are built to IP69K weather resistance standards, with a Makrolon LED PC lens and a powdercoated die-cast aluminum housing.
