Bigger tires and a front locker put a lot more force through the steering box than the factory planned for, and that force tries to pull the box right off the frame. A M.O.R.E. steering brace ties the power steering box to the passenger-side frame rail so the load gets shared instead of concentrated on the box mount.
This brace fits the 2003-2006 Jeep Wrangler TJ and 2004-2006 Wrangler Unlimited LJ. It does not fit 1997-2002 TJs. All the mounting hardware is included, and most installs need no drilling or modification. The brace is powder coated gray and the clamp is zinc plated.
M.O.R.E. says this brace supports the sector shaft with an extra bearing and frame-mounted support, which cuts down on box flex and steering play. It ships with the specialty clamp/plate this brace needs, and it works with factory or aftermarket steering boxes.
Think of it as cheap insurance. A torn-off steering box is costly trail damage, and it rarely happens close to the trailhead. M.O.R.E. (Mountain Off-Road Enterprises) has been building Jeep parts in Delta, Colorado since 1978, when Chris Overacker started the company in his home garage. Parts are designed in 3D CAD, laser cut and welded in-house in the USA.
M.O.R.E. backs its parts with the RockProof Lifetime Warranty for the original retail purchaser, for as long as they own the vehicle, against product failure. Rubber, urethane and the finish are treated as wear items and are not covered, and neither is labor or shipping.

M.O.R.E. Steering Brace FAQs
Do I need to drill anything?
Not for most applications. The mounting hardware is included.
Why do I need a steering brace?
Larger tires and a front locker add stress that can tear the steering box off the frame. The brace spreads that load to the passenger frame rail.
Will it fit my 2001 TJ?
No. This brace is for 2003-2006 TJ and 2004-2006 LJ.
Does it work with an aftermarket steering box?
M.O.R.E. says it works with factory or aftermarket steering boxes.
What does the warranty cover?
M.O.R.E. backs its parts with the RockProof Lifetime Warranty for the original retail purchaser, for as long as they own the vehicle, against product failure. Rubber, urethane and the finish are treated as wear items and are not covered, and neither is labor or shipping.
