M.O.R.E. Steering Box Skid Plate - Jeep Wrangler TJ 1997-2006
On a TJ, the steering box sits low and forward, right where a stray rock or stump can crack it. A cracked box means no steering, which is a bad place to be on the trail. M.O.R.E.'s steering box skid plate puts 3/16" laser-cut steel in front of it.
It is powder coated black and fits all 1997-2006 Jeep Wrangler TJ models. It installs with factory hardware, with no drilling or welding, and M.O.R.E. includes the hardware needed for the job.
Install is a quick driveway job. Bolt it in, then turn the wheel lock to lock and check that nothing contacts the plate. If you run an aftermarket bumper or a winch plate, check clearance around the front of the frame before you start. Re-check the bolts after the first trail run.
M.O.R.E. has been building Jeep parts in Delta, Colorado since 1978, when Chris Overacker started the company in his home garage. Parts are designed in 3D CAD, cut on Mazak lasers and welded by certified welders, all in-house in the USA.
