M.O.R.E. Shackle Reversal System for 2 Inch Springs - Jeep CJ 1976-1986

This is M.O.R.E.'s Shackle Reversal System (S.R.S.) for the 1976-1986 Jeep CJ running stock-width 2-inch leaf springs. M.O.R.E. was the first to offer this as a kit CJ and YJ owners could install at home.

The front pivot brackets come fully welded and bolt into existing CJ frame holes, with spacer plates to suit different winch setups or M.O.R.E.'s FP100 and FP300 frame plates. The shackle plates are 3/8-inch steel. The shackle mount is where this kit differs: you drill through the frame, weld in a steel tube, and press polyurethane bushings into it. The shackles then hang from both sides of the frame rail, which keeps driveshaft and caster angles near stock and leaves room under the rail for obstacles.

Know what it does and doesn't do. It adds no lift. With the standard brackets ride height stays put; the Stubby brackets drop the front about 7/8 inch and add roughly 3-4 degrees of caster. It works with stock or aftermarket lift springs, spring-under or spring-over. You must keep the stock pitman arm, and the front driveshaft needs a long-travel slip stub.

Install takes drilling and welding, so it's a job for someone comfortable with a welder or a shop that is. Step-by-step instructions come in the box. Finish choices are bare steel or powder coat in Pure Black, Flame Red, Tactical Gray or Desert Sand.
