From the factory, a CJ's front shackle sits ahead of the axle, so when the tire hits a rock part of that hit goes straight into the frame through the fixed rear pivot. A shackle reversal system flips that layout, putting the fixed pivot ahead of the axle so the spring and shackle soak up more of the impact. The payoff is smoother travel over obstacles, a better ride at speed and less wandering on the road.
This is M.O.R.E.'s full width axle version for 1976-1986 Jeep CJs on 2 in. CJ springs. The new front pivot brackets move the axle forward from stock. That is deliberate: a reversed shackle lets the tire move slightly rearward as it compresses, and the extra wheelbase keeps it out of the fender.
The bracketry is laser cut from .250 in. steel, with holes cut or punched instead of drilled, bent on CNC equipment, fixtured and pulse welded. All hardware and illustrated instructions are included. Order it bare or powder coated in Pure Black, Flame Red, Tactical Gray or Desert Sand.
Plan for the knock-on work. The front driveshaft needs a longer-travel slip yoke, close to double the stock travel, installed by a driveline shop. Depending on lift, you may also need to keep a stock (non-drop) pitman arm. This is a weekend project for an experienced home mechanic, not a quick bolt-on.
M.O.R.E. was the first to bring the shackle reversal system to CJ and YJ owners as a kit you could install at home. Made in the USA in Delta, Colorado.

M.O.R.E. Full Width Axle Shackle Reversal System 2 in. CJ Springs FAQs
Do I need a new front driveshaft?
You need a longer-travel slip yoke on the front shaft, close to double stock travel, installed by a professional driveline builder.
Will my pitman arm work?
M.O.R.E. says you may need to keep a stock, non-drop pitman arm, depending on how much lift you run.
Why does it move the axle forward?
With the shackle reversed, the tire moves slightly rearward as the suspension compresses. Moving the axle forward keeps the tire from hitting the fender.
Is hardware included?
Yes. All hardware and illustrated instructions are included.
What does the warranty cover?
M.O.R.E. backs it with the RockProof Lifetime Warranty for the original retail buyer for as long as they own the vehicle, covering product failure. The finish and any rubber or urethane are wear items and are not covered, and install labor and shipping are excluded.
