M.O.R.E. Rear Axle Traction Bar - Jeep CJ7 1976-1986 / Wrangler YJ 1987-1995

Put the rear leaf springs over the axle on a CJ7 or YJ and spring wrap can become a real problem: under power, the axle tries to rotate and winds the springs into an S shape. M.O.R.E.'s heavy-duty traction bar stops the wrap without tying down travel or flex.

Here is how it works. A Johnny Joint-mounted shackle at the front of the bar attaches to the transfer case crossmember, or to a custom crossmember on a CJ7. The bar turns the axle's twisting force into up-and-down movement at the shackle, and the shackle lets the bar move fore and aft — but it will not let the axle rotate. No rotation, no wrap.

It fits CJ7 and Wrangler YJ models with spring-over-axle rear suspension. It does not fit the CJ5.

This is not a bolt-on: welding is required. If you are not set up to weld on a rear axle housing, plan on a fab shop for that part of the job. Keep the axle cool between passes so you do not warp tubes or cook seals.
