  • Coverage is for the original purchaser and isn't transferable. The product must be bought from a Bilstein distributor or retailer in North America, and proof of purchase is required.

What's covered

  • Products free from defects in design, material and workmanship for the term above
  • Applies to the original purchaser with proof of purchase

What's not covered

  • Improper installation
  • Racing, competition or off-road use, as Bilstein's off-road warranty page words it
  • Modified use, or use on vehicles Bilstein doesn't recommend
  • Commercial vehicles
  • Bent or broken rods showing abuse or abnormal wear
  • Surface finish, boots, mounting hardware and rubber bushings
  • Labor charges
  • Aftermarket modifications such as springs or top hats

How to make a Bilstein warranty claim

  • Start with the place you bought the shocks (that's us, if you bought from NVMOS)
  • If the original seller can't help, email Bilstein's warranty team to confirm the part is warrantable and get a Warranty Evaluation Form. Don't send shocks in without contacting them first
  • Ship the shocks, proof of purchase and the completed form using the label on the form, with tracking and signature. Don't ship with loaded springs, and if a shock is leaking, bag it rather than cleaning it
  • Bilstein's quality and warranty teams evaluate the part and contact you with the result

About the brand

Bilstein

Bilstein is the German suspension company that put the first monotube gas-pressure shock on a production car in 1957. For trucks and SUVs, its B8 5100, 6112, 5160 and 8100/8112 lines are a go-to for lifted and leveled rigs, and the B6 4600 and B4 lines cover trucks at factory height.

Based in: Ennepetal, Germany (founded 1873, part of thyssenkrupp) · Lead time: In-stock parts typically ship in 24-48 hours; some items are special order

Bilstein warranty: Limited lifetime on most 5100, 6112, 4600, B6 and B4 products; 2 years on 5160, 5162, 8100, 8112 and B3. Read the full summary

Bilstein B8 5100 Front Shock Absorber (4 in. Lift) for Ford Bronco (1980-1996), Ford F-150 (1980-2004) & Ford F-250/F-350 Super Duty (1980-1997, 1999-2016)

A Bilstein B8 5100 46mm monotube front shock for 1980-1996 Ford Bronco, 1980-2004 F-150, 1980-1997 and 1999-2016 Ford F-250/F-350 trucks. It is valved for 4 in. of front lift (3-4 in. on the 1997-2004 F-150).

Why it works
Monotube designThe 46mm monotube body resists heat fade over long rough stretches.
Digressive valvingValving responds to surface changes as they happen rather than at one fixed rate.
Matched lift rangeIt is specified for 4 in. of front lift, so length and valving suit that ride height.
Boot includedA blue straight boot protects the shaft.
