If you are fitting an Alpine head unit, the microphone needs somewhere to live, and a dash-mounted stalk is not a great look in a Tundra. This mount from Trail Grid Pro holds an Alpine aftermarket microphone in the factory microphone port of the overhead headliner console, so it sits where Toyota put the original and keeps the cab looking stock.
The mount clips into the console, with the rounded end of the microphone seated near the bottom of the center support. The microphone wire then runs forward along the headliner, across the windshield and down the driver-side A-pillar, so nothing dangles in view.
Fitment
2007-2021 Toyota Tundra and 2014-2022 Toyota Sequoia. Console removal differs by year and trim, and Trail Grid Pro offers separate video guides for 2007-2013 Tundra and for 2014-2021 Tundra and 2014-2022 Sequoia.
Install notes
Open the sunglasses compartment, if equipped, and remove its two T20 Torx screws. Pry off the card holder panel with a plastic tool to reach two more T20 screws. Unplug the console harness, take out the foam insert from the microphone port, push the microphone through the mount and click the mount into the console. Route the wire toward the mirror, down the A-pillar and under the dash. Plug the 3.5mm jack into the microphone port on the back of the radio, then test.
