The MAP sensor on a 6.7L Powerstroke sits in an air stream that carries dirty exhaust gas and sticky oil, and over time that grime coats the sensor. This spacer relocates the sensor out of the way of that contaminated air, so it stays cleaner for longer.
A clean sensor reads more accurately, which the vendor says translates to consistent power and good fuel economy. It also stretches the interval between sensor cleanings or replacements. The vendor claims it dramatically reduces soot and oil buildup, and we would treat that as a maintenance helper rather than a performance upgrade.
