The factory skid plates on these trucks do not fully cover the transmission, and this RCI plate does. It is laser cut from 3/16" steel or 1/4" aluminum and fitted to the transmission and the second and third cross-members. It ties in with RCI front and transfer-case skids or works as a stand-alone plate.
Service openings allow maintenance without removing the plate, reinforced edges stiffen the span between cross-members, and bolt protector rings shield exposed hardware. The underside is smooth and flat. Black powder coat is available for a rust-resistant finish.
Fitment
RCI lists it for all 2003-2024 4Runner, FJ Cruiser and GX models. V6 and V8 trucks use different parts, so choose the right engine: 4.0L V6 or 4.6/4.7L V8. Weights are 30 lbs in steel and 16 lbs in aluminum for the V6, and 35 lbs and 20 lbs for the V8.
