The rocker panel is the part of a Colorado most likely to meet a rock, and replacing one is not cheap. These RCI sliders mount to the frame through full-length 1/4" frame plates with up to 15 mounting points per side, so the load is spread along the frame rather than concentrated in the body. They still work as a step around the parking lot.
The build is a 2" square main tube, 1.75" DOM outer rails and 1/4" gussets on all legs. The main tube ends are mitered at 45 degrees so they follow the body and are less likely to hang up, and the rear has RCI's low profile kick-out. RCI says they can support the truck's whole side for hi-lift lifting or sliding on rocks. Built in the USA.
Options
The standard angle is 20 degrees, with a 5 degree version available. Pick satin black powdercoat over epoxy primer or bare metal, with or without a bolt-on dimpled tread plate. RCI recommends 5 degrees if you add the tread plate.
