This is the Hi-Lite Overland hybrid front bumper for the 2016–2023 3rd Gen Tacoma, in the triple-hoop bull bar version. Backwoods builds it from steel and aluminum together, and the complete bumper weighs 84 lbs.
Why it works
The winch plate and recovery points are steel, because that is where the pulling loads go. The outer shell is aluminum, which keeps the weight off the nose of the truck. That split is what makes it a real hybrid rather than a single-material bumper with a hybrid label. Less weight up front is easier on the suspension and on how the truck drives every day.
