Why it works
Flows 54.60% more air than stock
S&B built this intake to cut air restriction on the 2013-2018 Ram Cummins 6.7L. The fully enclosed airbox keeps engine heat and dirt away from the filter.
A deeper, more aggressive sound
The large filter and intake tube give a more aggressive sound than stock. Hear it from inside and outside the cab in S&B's sound clip.
Built-in swing gate
In extreme heat, under heavy load or at altitude, the gate pivots at full throttle to open the ram-air duct behind the grille for cooler, less restrictive air. It uses the stock Ram-Air motor, and in normal driving or ice, snow and rain it draws from the wheel-well inlet.
Silicone filters and couplers
Silicone is a premium rubber that seals better and lasts longer, handling up to 400°F without cracking or tearing. Its high-friction, residue-free surface keeps the filter and couplers from sliding off the tube. No residue on your hands, either.
Run both inlets for more air
The swing gate works like the stock airbox, but unlike stock you can open both inlets at once. Remove the dam from the gate arm, and reattach it for harsh weather; the arm stays active, so you won't get an Active Air Box code.
