About Rock Slide Engineering
Rock Slide Engineering builds parts for the Jeep Wrangler, Jeep Gladiator and Ford Bronco, and also lists parts for the Toyota Tacoma and Tundra, Chevy Colorado, GMC Canyon, Ford Ranger and Ineos Grenadier. The company works out of North Logan, Utah, and sells through a dealer network as well as direct.
The Step Slider is the product RSE is known for. The current 3rd Gen version uses a 10-gauge steel body that is acid-etched and powder coated in textured black, with stainless steel and aluminum internals. When a door opens, a smart motor drops the step a full 12 inches below the slider; when the door closes, the step retracts flush. RSE removed the gas strut from the internals to extend motor life, added a sleep mode to limit battery drain, and lengthened the back of the step by 2 inches for easier rear-door access. RSE rates the sliders for moderate off-road use and points owners who run harder trails to its skid plate.
What we carry from Rock Slide Engineering
Most of what we list from RSE is the 3rd Gen Step Slider for the Jeep Wrangler JK and JL in 2- and 4-door form, the Gladiator JT and the 2- and 4-door Bronco, listed by driver and passenger side (the Gladiator also has end sections), plus older Step Sliders for the TJ and LJ. Alongside them we carry Step-Slider skid plates and rocker guards, the light kit and door delete kits, and service parts such as motors, circuit boards, gas springs and rebuild kits for Gen 2 and Gen 3 sliders. We also list RSE's Rigid Series front bumpers for the JK and JL (full or shorty, with winch plate and optional bullbar), Rigid rear bumpers for the JL and Gladiator, a Rigid skid plate for the JK, a Tacoma front bumper, Overland bed racks for the Gladiator, Tacoma, Ranger and Colorado/Canyon, the EZ Rack, a Gladiator rear seat cargo rack, the R-Step and LED light brackets.

How to choose
Order both sides: We list Step Sliders by side, and the Gladiator kit also has separate end sections. Make sure your cart has every piece your Jeep or Bronco needs before you check out.
Match the exact model year: RSE builds separate Step Sliders for different year ranges of the same vehicle, such as 2018-2023 and 2024-2025 JL 4-doors. Confirm your year and 2- or 4-door body before ordering.
Add the skid plate for hard trails: RSE rates Step Sliders for moderate off-road use and recommends its skid plate for more aggressive terrain. If your Jeep spends weekends on rocks, budget for the skid plate with the sliders.
Set aside an afternoon to install: RSE describes the 3rd Gen install as no-drill, using the factory mounting points and a standalone wiring harness with no splicing into the vehicle's wiring. It lists about four hours for the JL 4-door kit.
Follow the instructions exactly: RSE's warranty is void if the install does not strictly follow its instructions, is modified, or goes on the wrong vehicle. Keep the instructions and your receipt with the truck's paperwork.
Lead times & shipping
NVMOS dropships Rock Slide Engineering orders from the brand or its distributor. In-stock parts usually leave in 1-3 business days, and parts stocked at the manufacturer take about 1-2 weeks. Service parts, brackets and light kits ship by parcel carrier. Step Sliders, bumpers and bed racks are long, heavy boxes; some ship oversized and larger racks can go by freight truck, which may add a few days. We send tracking as soon as we have it.
Rock Slide Engineering warranty
RSE's published warranty is written around its Step Sliders. It covers the structural components for the lifetime of the Step Sliders, and the powder coat finish and the mechanical and electrical components, including the motor, for 12 months from the original purchase date. Coverage is for the original retail purchaser only, on a product bought from RSE or an authorized retailer or reseller and still installed on the original vehicle. RSE decides whether to repair or replace the part or refund the purchase price. Removal and reinstallation are not covered, the buyer pays all shipping, and the warranty is void if the product was modified, installed without strictly following the instructions or fitted to the wrong vehicle. RSE's damages are capped at the product's retail price. The published terms do not list separate coverage for bumpers, racks or lighting, so ask us before you buy if that matters to you.
