About Extang
Extang has been building truck bed covers for a long time; supplier listings put the company's start in Ann Arbor, Michigan in 1982, and it became part of Truck Hero, now RealTruck, in 2007. Today extang.com points to RealTruck, which handles Extang's catalog, warranty registration and claims.
The line is built around folding covers, and Extang's habit is to keep refining the same few designs rather than chasing novelty. The Trifecta soft tri-fold has gone through 2.0, Signature and ALX versions, and the Solid Fold hard cover has 2.0 and ALX versions, and Extang leans on its own clamp designs to keep installs quick. The trade-off you are choosing between is the usual one: soft covers are lighter, easier to pull off and carry Extang's longest warranty, while hard covers are tougher against weather and casual theft.

Every cover is built to a specific model year range and bed length, and we list them for the pickups we support, from the Toyota Tacoma, Tundra and Ford Maverick up through the F-150, Super Duty, Silverado and Sierra and Ram trucks. Check the bed length on the listing before ordering, since a 5 foot and a 6 foot Tacoma bed take different covers.

How to choose
Soft or hard: Soft Trifecta covers carry Extang's lifetime warranty and are easy to remove. Hard Solid Fold and Xceed covers stand up better to hail, snow load and someone poking around the bed, but carry three- or five-year terms.
Measure the bed, not the brochure: Extang builds each cover to a bed length and model year range. Measure inside the bed from bulkhead to tailgate and confirm the generation before you order.
Running a toolbox: A crossbed tool box rules out a standard cover. The Trifecta Toolbox 2.0 is the version made for trucks running one.
Plan your cleaning: Extang voids coverage for improper cleaning. Use soap and water or Extang's Tonno Tonic and skip silicone-based vinyl conditioners.
Mind tall loads: Driving with panels open or unsecured, or letting cargo press against the cover, voids the warranty. If you haul tall items often, plan to fold the cover fully and secure it before you drive.
Lead times & shipping
NVMOS dropships every Extang order from the brand or its distributor. In-stock parts usually leave in 1-3 business days, and parts stocked at the manufacturer take about 1-2 weeks. Seals, cleats, lighting and replacement parts ship by parcel carrier. Tonneau covers come in long boxes and hard folding covers in particular often ship freight by truck, which can add a few days and may need someone home to receive them. We send tracking as soon as we have it.
Extang warranty
Extang warrants its products to the original buyer against defects in materials and workmanship, starting on the purchase date, with terms set per product: lifetime on the Trifecta 2.0, Trifecta 2.0 Signature and Trifecta ALX, five years on the Xceed, Solid Fold ALX and Trifecta E-Series, three years on the Solid Fold 2.0, 90 days on the Solid Fold 2.0 UTV and one year on lighting, the MaxSeal and Cargo Cleats. Extang repairs or replaces the part at its option and may offer a substitute for discontinued covers. You need registration on file or a dated receipt, and shipping costs are yours. Accidents, misuse, improper install, normal wear and interference with other accessories are excluded, and specific habits void coverage outright: letting the tarp whip in the wind, cleaning with the wrong products, overloading the bed into the cover, driving with panels open, opening panels under snow or ice, and towing the truck from the rear with the cover on.
