Borla FAQs
How long is the Borla warranty?
One million miles against defects in materials and workmanship on Borla exhaust systems, mufflers and headers, for the original buyer on the original vehicle. Black coatings, tip finishes, carbon fiber and valves or actuators are covered for one year.
Does the warranty transfer if I sell the truck?
No. Coverage is for the original purchaser of record and the original vehicle, so a second owner or a second truck is not covered.
Will Borla pay for installation if a part fails?
No. Borla repairs or replaces the defective part, but removal and reinstallation costs are excluded and the part has to be returned freight prepaid.
Does the warranty cover a system I think is too loud?
No. Borla excludes sound level complaints, so choose between ATAK, S-Type and Touring before you buy.
Will a Borla exhaust void my truck's factory warranty?
Borla says its street cat-back, rear section and muffler systems do not void factory warranties and are 50-state emissions legal. A dealer would have to show the exhaust caused a failure.
Which Borla system is the quietest?
Touring. Borla describes it as slightly louder than stock with a deeper tone, intended for daily driving. S-Type sits in the middle and ATAK is the loudest.
Do I need a tuner with a Borla exhaust?
No. Borla says no reprogramming is needed and the engine computer adapts on its own over about 300 to 400 miles.
