About Yukon

Yukon Gear & Axle designs differential and axle parts in-house at its Everett, Washington headquarters and has its products produced by outside OEM manufacturers. Its own history page dates manufacturing and distribution in Everett to 2001, with warehouses added later in Tennessee, California, Kentucky and Texas. Today it sits inside RANDYS Worldwide, alongside sister brands like USA Standard Gear, ICON, Dynatrac and Carli.

The catalog is deep rather than flashy: gear sets in every common ratio, the bearings, shims and seals to set them up properly, carriers and spider gears, Zip and Grizzly lockers, Dura Grip limited slips, axle shafts in 1541H and 4340 chromoly, and Hardcore diff covers. Some lower-cost replacement pieces in our Yukon listings carry the USA Standard Gear name, which is RANDYS' value-oriented line.

What we carry from Yukon

We carry Yukon ring and pinion sets, master and minor install kits, overhaul kits, bearing kits, carriers, spider gear sets, yokes, axle shafts, diff covers, tools and driveshaft parts. Coverage is strongest for the axles our customers actually run: Dana 30, 44 and 60 in Jeep Wrangler JK, JL and Gladiator JT, Toyota 8 inch and IFS fronts in Tacoma, 4Runner, Tundra, FJ and Land Cruiser, Ford 8.8 and 10.5 in F-150, Ranger and Super Duty, GM 9.5 and 11.5 AAM in Silverado and Sierra, and AAM 11.5 in Ram 2500 and 3500.

How to choose

Match the axle, not just the truck: Gear sets are specific to the differential model and sometimes to standard or reverse rotation. Confirm the axle tag or housing before you pick a ratio, especially on Jeeps and Toyotas that used more than one axle in a model run.

Buy the install kit with the gears: New gears want new bearings, a fresh crush sleeve or shims, and seals. A master install kit is the cleaner way to get everything in one box, and a shop will usually ask for one anyway.

Pick axle material by tire size: Yukon's 1541H shafts carry a 10-year warranty, while 4340 chromoly shafts carry a limited lifetime breakage warranty. Yukon also publishes maximum tire sizes for some housings, roughly 33 inches for Dana 30 and 35 inches for Dana 44 and Ford 8.8, and running larger can void coverage.

Plan for setup labor: Ring and pinion work needs proper pattern checks and backlash settings. If you are not set up for it, budget for a drivetrain shop and expect the gear break-in procedure afterward.

Lead times & shipping

NVMOS dropships Yukon parts. Items in stock ship in 1-3 business days, and parts stocked at the manufacturer take about 1-2 weeks. Gear sets and kits go out by parcel; heavier pieces like complete axle housings can ship by truck freight, which adds a few days and needs someone to receive it. If a ratio or spline count is short, we will tell you before the order goes stale.

Yukon warranty

Yukon's standard warranty covers the original retail purchaser against defects in materials and workmanship, with terms set by product: one year on ring and pinion sets, install kits, carriers, yokes, spider gears and Positraction units; 10 years on 1541H axles; limited lifetime coverage on 4340 chromoly axles, spools, Super Joints and Hardcore hubs, flanges and diff covers while the original buyer owns the vehicle; six years on Zip Lockers with collateral damage and labor up to 2,000 dollars in the first two years; and one year plus the same collateral coverage on Grizzly Lockers. Coverage requires installation per Yukon's instructions and can be voided on oversized tires. Labor and incidental costs are otherwise excluded. Yukon also sells an optional Y.E.S. extended plan that must be added within 30 days of ordering. Read our Yukon warranty summary.

Yukon FAQs

What is the warranty on Yukon ring and pinion gears?

One year against manufacturing defects for the original buyer. Yukon sells an optional Y.E.S. extended service plan for gear kits that has to be bought within 30 days of ordering the parts.

Are Yukon chromoly axles covered for breakage?

Yes. Yukon's 4340 chromoly axles carry a limited lifetime warranty covering defects and breakage while the original purchaser owns the vehicle. It is not transferable, and the first return is replaced without questions; after that Yukon may replace or refund.

Why do some Yukon listings say USA Standard?

USA Standard Gear is a sister brand under RANDYS Worldwide aimed at replacement and value builds. Those parts come through the same supply channel as Yukon, so we list them together.

Does tire size affect the Yukon warranty?

It can. Yukon publishes maximum recommended tire diameters for several housings, about 33 inches for Dana 30, Dana M35 and Chrysler 8.25, and 35 inches for Dana 44, Ford 8.8, GM 8.5 and Toyota 8, and may void coverage above those.

Do I need an install kit with new gears?

In practice, yes. Yukon install kits bundle the bearings, races, shims, seals and crush sleeve a gear swap needs, and most shops will not set up gears on old bearings.

How long does a Yukon order take?

In-stock parts ship from NVMOS in 1-3 business days. Parts stocked at the manufacturer take about 1-2 weeks. Call (920) 249-7744 if you need a ratio by a certain date.
