About Overland Kitted

Husband-and-wife team Matthew Scott and Laura Chain started the business in 2015 as Adventure Imports, the exclusive U.S. importer of MAXTRAX and several other Australian and South African overland brands. Scott is a longtime expedition leader and gear reviewer; Chain is a wildlife biologist.

The company later shifted to selling direct, and it designs its own line of American-made steel and stainless mounts. Given the founders' history, it's no surprise those mounts are mostly about carrying MAXTRAX well.

What we carry from Overland Kitted

Roof rack mounting bars for traction boards in flat, raised and billet versions; spare tire MAXTRAX mounting systems (standard, Mini and LITE); spare tire accessory brackets; and a bed rail MAXTRAX mount for pickups.

Their heavy-duty RotoPax spare tire mounts pair well with our fuel can mounts. Everything is universal across roof racks, bed rails and exposed spares, so it sits naturally with our roof rack accessories and tire carriers.

How to choose

Pick the mount by board model first, then by where it lives.

• There are separate plates for MAXTRAX MKII/XTREME, LITE and Mini boards. Match the mount to your boards.
• On a roof rack, choose flat, raised or folding mounts based on the clearance you need. The stealth folding mounts sit flush or at minimum rise.
• Spare tire mounts need an exposed rear spare. Pickups without one are better served by the bed rail mount.

When parts ship from Overland Kitted, most in-stock items leave within 24–48 hours on weekdays, and made-to-order items take longer.

Overland Kitted warranty

Overland Kitted doesn't publish a warranty term for its own mounts. Its policy follows a manufacturer-based warranty, it helps with the claim process, and installed or used items are reviewed for warranty rather than returned.
