About BAK

BAK got its start making bed liners and truck caps before moving into tonneau covers, and the original BAKFlip, the cover that became today's BAKFlip MX4, is what made its name. BAK and UnderCover were both Truck Hero brands, and Truck Hero is now RealTruck, which handles BAK's catalog, warranty registration and claims.

Everything BAK sells is a hard cover, and the lineup splits two ways. BAKFlip covers are folding panels that stack toward the cab, and the panel builds differ: solid-core panels with aluminum skins on the G2, polymer-reinforced aluminum panels on the MX4, and a fiberglass-reinforced polymer top skin over aluminum on the F1 and FiberMax. Revolver covers are rolling covers made from aluminum slats under a vinyl top that roll up against the bulkhead to clear nearly the whole bed. RealTruck says the BAKFlip MX4 is made in the USA from globally sourced materials.

What we carry from BAK

We carry the BAKFlip MX4 hard folding cover, including its EZ-Lift and TS versions, the BAKFlip G2, the BAKFlip F1 and the BAKFlip FiberMax. On the rolling side we list the Revolver X4s, the Revolver X4ts with T-slot rails, the Revolver X2 and X4ts rail-only kits. Each cover is built to a specific model year range and bed length, and we list them for the Toyota Tacoma and Tundra, Ford Ranger, Maverick, F-150 and Super Duty, Chevy Silverado and Colorado, GMC Sierra and Canyon, Ram 1500 and HD trucks, Nissan Frontier and Titan and the Jeep Gladiator. Some fitments also depend on whether the truck has a factory bed rail system, a RamBox or a multifunction tailgate, so read the listing notes.

How to choose

Folding or rolling: A BAKFlip folds toward the cab and gives about two-thirds of the bed with the panels stacked, or close to all of it with the cover propped up against the cab. A Revolver rolls up to the bulkhead and clears nearly the whole bed, with straps holding it open for tall loads.

Pick the panel build: The G2 uses solid-core panels with aluminum skins and a gloss finish, and the MX4 uses polymer-reinforced aluminum panels with a matte finish. The F1 and FiberMax put a fiberglass-reinforced polymer top skin over aluminum for dent and scuff resistance.

Know the load rating: BAK's catalog rates the MX4 and F1 at 400 lb of evenly distributed weight and the G2 and FiberMax at 300 lb. If you stand on or stack gear on the cover, choose accordingly.

T-slot rails for gear: The Revolver X4ts is the X4 rolling cover with T-slot rails, which give you mounting points above the bed. If you never plan to carry anything up there, the X4s is the simpler choice.

Measure the bed and check the rails: BAK builds each cover to an exact bed length, and some trucks need the version for a factory track or deck rail system. Measure inside the bed and note any rail system before ordering.

Lead times & shipping

NVMOS dropships every BAK order from the brand or its distributor. In-stock parts usually leave in 1-3 business days, and parts stocked at the manufacturer take about 1-2 weeks. Hard tonneau covers come in long, heavy boxes and often ship by truck freight, which can add a few days and may need someone home to receive them. Rail kits and smaller parts ship by parcel carrier. We send tracking as soon as we have it.

BAK warranty

BAK warrants its covers to be structurally free from defects in material and workmanship from the retail purchase date, for the original purchaser only; the warranty does not transfer. Terms are set per product: five years on the BAKFlip MX4, BAKFlip F1 and Revolver X4s, three years on the BAKFlip G2, BAKFlip FiberMax and Revolver X2, and one year on the BAKBox. You need warranty registration on file or a detailed, dated receipt. A defective cover can go back to the place of purchase or through BAK's online claim form, with the order number, vehicle details, a copy of the receipt and photos. BAK does not accept returns of non-defective covers once they have been installed, and anything shipped to BAK without prior authorization can be refused or sent back at your expense. The BAKFlip MX4, BAKFlip F1 and Revolver X4s. The BAKFlip G2, BAKFlip FiberMax and Revolver X2 carry three years.

Does the BAK warranty transfer to a new owner?

No. BAK's warranty covers only the original purchaser.

Do I need to register my BAK cover?

BAK requires registration on file or a detailed, dated receipt. Your NVMOS order confirmation serves as the receipt, but registering is still worth doing.

What is the difference between the Revolver X4s and X4ts?

BAK rates the BAKFlip MX4 and F1 at 400 lb and the G2 and FiberMax at 300 lb, evenly distributed.
