Are you a fan of the stock taillights on your Jeep? If your answer is no, then you are in the right spot. Follow along as we show you how to install the Morimoto XB low profile tails on our 2022 JLU 392.

These tails are a gamechanger for the market because they maintain the outward positioning of the factory blind spot monitors, yet are a near flush aesthetic  to the back of the vehicle.

Let's begin.

1. Grab your trusty 10mm and a trim removal tool.

2. The access panels for the rear tails are located above the fenders. Take your trim tool and carefully remove the cover.

3. You'll loosen the plastic bolt until the light is free, then carefully pull rearward from the body paneling. Go ahead and disconnect the harness from the vehicle.

4. Find a protected spot on the workbench to begin the disassembly of the taillight. We will be removing (14) philips head screws to access and remove the blind spot monitor from the OEM taillight. Go slow, and at the 3rd layer in, you will be able to disconnect and remove the sensor. You will not need to re-use the harness.

5. Go ahead and grab the replacement Morimoto XB taillight. Since this vehicle was LED equipped, we will not need the supplied inline resistor, and that can be disconnected and unused. Dissasemble the housing to the same point as the OEM one, and reinstall the blind spot monitor as shown.

6. Reinstall the wiring harness, and snug the mounting bolt until no additional resistance is felt. Test light functionality and enjoy your new tails! For reference, these are the smoked version (which matches quite well).

Let us know your thoughts below! Best part about these lights are the fact that they are completely designed, engineered, tested and distributed by Morimoto, here in the USA. They're also produced from the best materials & backed with a five-year warranty.
