Will You Notice A Difference in Ride Quality and Handling?
Absolutely! The Coachbuilder +3" Shackle Kit provides a smoother ride, better rear-end stability, and improved towing confidence. It's the ultimate upgrade for any Tundra owner looking for serious rear suspension performance — guaranteed.
How to Size Your Rear Shackles Correctly:
- Park your Tundra on a level surface. Measure from the center of the front and rear wheel wells straight down to the ground (or tire tops). Write these measurements down.
- Use a floor jack to lift the rear of the truck at the hitch until you're satisfied with the stance — aiming for at least .750" higher in the rear than the front for proper rake.
- Measure again, and the difference between the two readings tells you how much lift you need to add.
Installation Tips for Tundra Shackle Kits:
- Remove the lower rear shock bolts and the spare tire before installation to make the process easier.
- If your Tundra has TRD dual exhaust, detach the rubber hangers at the tailpipe to allow it to move freely.
- Safely support the frame and lower the rear axle until the suspension is at full droop (zero load on the leaf springs).
- Remove the OEM shackles from both the frame and leaf spring pack.
- Use a ball joint press tool to remove the stock rubber bushings from the leaf spring eyelets.
- Thoroughly grease and install the provided poly bushings and center sleeves using a soft mallet.
- Apply grease to the smooth sections of the new hardware and assemble.
- Once completed, torque all bolts to 70 ft-lbs, reinstall the spare tire, and secure the lower shock bolts.
Enhance the strength, stance, and off-road performance of your Toyota Tundra with the Coachbuilder +3" Shackle Kit — a superior solution for everyday driving, heavy towing, and rugged adventures alike.
